Mechanical Engineer
Needham, MA
October 2020 – Present
● Implementing assorted design changes to heated kitchen products to better understand the effects on overall performance.
● Creating proof-of-concept prototype builds to test and develop innovative products.
● Measuring airspeeds and documenting airflow to propose product design changes throughout development.
● Designing and constructing a testing chamber to gauge performances of cooking appliances in various outdoor atmospheres.
- Integrating PID-controlled thermostats and humidistats to maintain the closed environment at predetermined setpoints.

Mechanical Engineer-Design Team Co-op
Burlington, MA
January 2019 – June 2019
● Designed and fabricated a testing rig that blends metal powder in a rotating vessel, while simultaneously heating the powder and having the option for either positive gas flow pressure or vacuum.
- Conducted an in-depth heat transfer analysis to determine the total number of heating elements necessary and the thickness of the insulation required to bring the metal powder to a set temperature.
- Created a P&ID and selected the proper components for the gas and electrical systems.
- Fabricated an acrylic mounting panel and 3D printed various fixturing devices from CAD to support all components.
- Performed initial testing using the fully functional blender and analyzed the powder samples for each test.
● Built a large, custom powder processing oven requiring the design and fabrication of a pneumatics panel, which facilitated compressed air and nitrogen flow through the oven.
● Assembled a BOM for a large gas/fluid system and calculated specifications for components given a P&ID.
● Designed and wired the relay logic for a safety control box monitoring line pressure values in an autonomous furnace system.

Mechanical Engineer-Operations Team Co-op
Burlington, MA
January 2018 – June 2018
● Executed a gauge repeatability and reproducibility study on a Keyence 3D scanner analyzing its measurement system.
● Created an operating manual for an Epilog laser cutter that depicts proper design tolerances specific to the machine.
● Designed a lifting mechanism on Solidworks to move heavy, desktop 3D printers throughout the building internally.
● Composed a Standard Operating Procedure to maintain the inventory of various print farm consumables.
● Applied 5S manufacturing and lab practices to initiate a more efficient and lean workspace in the print farm.
● Wrote the procedure and performed ISTA-1A drop testing for product packaging.
● Designed and laser cut test fixtures from acrylic sheets for an aging test of metal binder rods.
Nova Biomedical
Manufacturing Engineer Co-op
Waltham, MA
January 2017 – July 2017
● Designed tools and fixtures using Solidworks with the goal of solving production bottlenecks on the manufacturing floor.
- Worked closely with the tool and die makers from the in-house machine shop to the designs manufactured.
● Redesigned a nitrogen gas purge system, which included designing and manufacturing a custom manifold and bracketry.
● Performed ultrasonic sensor testing, septum leak testing, septum piercing testing, and UV light intensity testing.
● Wrote and facilitated IQ/OQ procedures for pneumatic presses.
● Created and updated assembly procedures, drawings, BOMs, and temporary deviations, followed by an ECO submission.
● Extended standard co-op based on the request from management to assist in the transition period of the new co-ops.
